Cleansers are products that remove dirt and oil from our skin. They help to unclog pores and work toward preventing acne and other skin conditions. I love investing a good cleanser in my skincare routine, as it is a key essential to have. When it comes to my face, I usually opt for products that are very gentle to the skin and would usually go for products meant for sensitive skin.

My favourites are

  • Simple Kind to Skin Vital Vitamin Foaming Cleanser
  • Garnier PureActive Sensitive Anti-Blemish Soap-Free Gel Wash
  • Neutrogena Refreshingly Clear Facial Wash
  • La Roche-Posay Effaclar H Cleansing Cream

A good face exfoliator is an essential part of your skincare routine. It promotes cell turnover, allowing old dead skin cells to shed and allowing new healthy skin to resurface.

There are two kinds of exfoliators. Scrubs which use granule to gently slough off dead skin cells and Facial Peels which use chemicals like Lactic Acid and the likes.

There are tons of exfoliating products in the market but here are my faves

  • Neutrogena Refreshingly Clear Daily Exfoliator
  • Garnier Pure Active 3 in 1 Clay Mask Scrub Wash Oily Skin
  • Clarins Gentle Peeling Smooth Away Cream

For facial peels, I prefer leaving this to professionals to do on my face. In the past when I tried peels at home, it resulted in chemical burns.

Toners are used just immediately after your cleansing. They help reduce pores, remove excess oil, and balance the skin. I love a good toner as they help to improve complexing as well as plump my skin.

My favourites are

  • Pixi Glow Tonic
  • The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Lotion
  • La Roche-Posay Soothing Lotion

Serum is a skincare product you apply to your skin after cleansing but before you moisturise. It delivers powerful ingredients directly into the skin, providing it with amazing nutrients. It is a great tool for targeting specific skincare concerns, like wrinkles.

My favourite serums are

  • Clarins Double Serum
  • Pixi Collagen & Retinol Serum
  • Shiseido Ultimune Power Infusing Concentrate

Moisturisers help treat your skin when it’s dry as well as prevent it from drying out. They do this by holding water in the outermost layer of the skin.

My favourites are

  • Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel with Hyaluronic Acid for Dry Skin
  • Clarins Super Restorative Day Cream
  • La Roche-Posay Hyalu B5 Hyaluronic Acid Cream

And a bonus is Sunscreen, never leave home with slathering some sunscreen on you. It protects the outer layer of your skin from the elements.

My favourites are

  • La Roche-Posay Anthelios Anti-Imperfection SPF50+
  • Glossier Invisible Shield
