Style is nothing without the correct fit, before you learn about what style you love and what clothes to buy, you have to learn about your body shape. Knowing this will help you understand the types of clothing that will work best for you. You need clothes that will accentuate your good features and hide your not so good bits, this, in turn, will help you feel confident every time you style yourself and step out.

When shopping for clothes, your goal is to create the illusion of having a balanced body shape. For example, if the top half of your body is wider than your bottom half then your goal is to create some sort of illusion for your bottom half or if you have no curves whatsoever then the goal is to create some curves with what you are wearing. The hourglass shape is considered to be the balanced body shape because the top half of the hourglass shape is equal to the bottom half and you have a defined waist, sometimes called the figure 8.

How do you find out what body shape you have?

Stand in front of a tall mirror in your underwear, your legs should be together and your hands away from your sides. Compare your shape to one of the shapes below;
